Maria Joannou, Psy.D

Dr. Maria Joannou is a Clinical Psychologist who received her PsyD at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, California. She specializes in Neuropsychology. Dr. Joannou worked at an Acute Rehabilitation facility in the USA, providing both psychotherapeutic and neuropsychological services to patients who had suffered strokes, mild and traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, cancer, and other medical conditions. She has also worked with adults battling addiction, adolescents with learning, behavioral, and emotional difficulties, and has volunteered on a crisis hotline. She has practiced individual and family therapy using a Cognitive-Behavioural Approach.

Maria Perdikogianni, MA, RPT

Maria Perdikogianni is a Registered Psychologist in Cyprus and in Greece, a Psychotherapist and Child Play Therapist for the past 17 years. She has worked with children, parents, adults and individuals with developmental and cognitive challenges.

Ms. Perdikogianni grew up in the United States of America and completed her undergraduate and graduate studies there.  She holds B.A. degrees in English Literature and Psychology and graduate degrees in Educational Psychology and Child Play Therapy.

She has been trained as a Cognitive-Behaviour Therapist as well as in issues of behavior management, parental training and guidance, and group therapy.  She has experience working with issues of abuse, psychological and emotional disorders, anxiety, and behavioral issues with children. Ms. Perdikogianni has organized and carried out parent training groups, group therapy, and support groups. She taught at Intercollege in Larnaca full-time for two years, is a part-time lecturer at the University of Nicosia, and was the Director of the Center for Therapy, Training and Research for 5 years. Ms. Perdikogianni gives lectures at schools and other organizations, and presents at local and international conferences.  She is an associate for the Organization for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Cyprus and at the present time is the Coordinator of ARISTON vocational testing services and Student Counselor at the University.
